Nová Karolina Park wins the top prize at the Moravian-Silesian Regional Construction 2012 Awards
On Monday, June 17, 2013, the winners of the 7th Annual Moravian-Silesian Regional Construction awards were announced in a ceremony at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava. The top prize in the category “Civic Facilities – New” was awarded to the Nová Karolina Park project in Ostrava, developed by PASSERINVEST GROUP, a.s. The competition is organized by the Association of Building Entrepreneurs, the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers, the Architectural Society and the Moravian-Silesian Region.
GEMO Olomouc, spol. s r.o, general contractor of Nová Karolina Park, received the grand prize in the category “Civic Facilities – New” for the symbolic architectural expression of the building which frames the entrance to the complex of buildings.
The Nová Karolina Park administrative building is part of a larger project in the city center called Nová Karolina, forming a gateway to this area. Nová Karolina Park offers nearly 24,765 m2 of prime office space on six floors. The office space is complemented by 3,792 m2 of ground floor space intended for shops, services and restaurants. The subterranean level features 280 parking spaces for building users.
“Recognition of the Nová Karolina Park project gives us great pleasure and we genuinely believe that it deserves it. Along with the other buildings, this project has contributed to the unique – I would even say historic – transformation of the center of Ostrava into a unique multifunctional center,” said Radim Passer, CEO of the developer PASSERINVEST GROUP.
Nová Karolina Park, which was completed at the end of last year, has received its BREEAM certification, a prestigious British methodology for certification of green buildings. It was designed by Vít Butter and David R. Chisholm of the renowned studio CMC Architects.
Since October of last year, those who are interested in leasing space in the Nová Karolina Park building have had the opportunity to visit a fully furnished showroom measuring 64 m2. This showroom offers interested parties a better idea how their office might look. The showroom was prepared by the Nová Karolina Park project developer, PASSERINVEST GROUP, in cooperation with Techo.
THE KAROLINA PARK PROJECT
Nová Karolina Park is part of a larger project, Nová Karolina, located nearly in the center of Ostrava, close to Masaryk Square. Here, on 32 hectares of land, new modern offices as well as apartments and a shopping and entertainment center are being gradually constructed in four phases. The Nová Karolina project was carried out with the involvement of three major investors – PASSERINVEST GROUP, Multi Development Czech Republic and GEMO Olomouc.
