Nová Karolina Park in Ostrava Welcomes Another Tenant – AXA Assistance

Nová Karolina Park , an architecturally unique modern building forming the gateway to Nová Karolina, the newly urbanized area in the city center, welcomes another new tenant in May –  AXA Assistance, a member of the AXA worldwide financial group.

AXA Assistance, active on the Czech market since 1998, is a leading provider of services for individuals and businesses in the areas of travel insurance, legal protection and guidance, assistance services for vehicles and homes, medical assistance and innovative products to measure, especially in the area of lifestyle and concierge services for VIP clients.

“When choosing the right seat for our branch in Ostrava, we gave priority to projects that were not only well located and architecturally interesting, but also respectful to the environment – through both modern technology which guarantees low energy consumption, as well as consideration for their surroundings. When making our choice, we also thought about our employees – we want to create a work environment in which they feel comfortable. Nová Karolina Park met all of our requirements, so we decided to base our company right here,” explained Petr Hosek, Chief Operating Officer of AXA Assistance for the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

AXA Assistance will occupy 2000 m2 of office space at Nová Karolina Park. Company employees will move into their new premises in two phases – the first move-in will take place in May, and the second will follow in August. When planning its growth strategy, AXA Assistance takes human resources into consideration and therefore new employment opportunities in the region.

The developer of the Nová Karolina Park project is a joint venture between PASSERINVEST GROUP, GEMO Olomouc and Multi Development Czech Republic. The six-story building is an integral part of  – as well as a symbolic gateway to – Nová Karolina, a modern, multifunctional complex located in the heart of Ostrava. The complex sits on 32 hectares of land, and in addition to first-class office space, it offers space for restaurants, retail and entertainment facilities, as well as new residential units. The Nová Karolina Park office building was completed in early 2013 and is currently nearly 40% occupied. The building is proud to have companies such as Česká spořitelna, UniCredit Bank, UniCredit Leasing, ABB ČR and NESS as tenants.

Nová Karolina Park offers nearly 24,600 m2 of first-class office space, plus 3,700 m2 of ground floor retail, services and restaurant premises. Underground floors provide 279 parking spaces for building users.

Nová Karolina Park has received its BREEAM certification, the prestigious British methodology for certifying green buildings. The building was designed by Vít Máslo and David R. Chisholm of CMC Architects. The general contractor for the construction was GEMO Olomouc.

PASSERINVEST GROUP, a. s.

Passerinvest Group (hereinafter Passerinvest) is a purely Czech builder and investor. The company was founded by Radim Passer back in 1991 and has since then acquired a lot of experience in the construction of office and commercial buildings, residential buildings and civic amenities.
Since 1998, Passerinvest, as a responsible urban developer, has primarily been connected with Brumlovka (BB Centrum) in Prague 4, which is one of the most successful and extensive urban projects not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout all of Europe. Another important project in the company’s portfolio is Nové Roztyly, a brownfield of the former slaughterhouses of the Interlov complex where, in the future, a place with pleasant housing with a large park should arise, complemented by services for the general public and an office function. The principles of urban construction and the long-term sustainable development of Prague and the Czech Republic are part of Passerinvest Group’s vision. Thanks to its responsible approach, Passerinvest has built a very good reputation both on a domestic and on an international level. This is not only to the credit of the quality of the realised projects and the high level of the provided services, but also to the sense of fair play, a customer approach and also its responsibility to the society and the environment.
