DELTA to welcome IT Giants Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft

The PASSERINVEST GROUP, which is the leading development and investment company in the Czech Republic, is currently completing the largest office building in the BB Centre – the DELTA Building – and already has two important tenants. The multinational IT companies Hewlett-Packard and Microsoft will be moving into what is the greenest building of the administrative complex.

Both companies are already long-term tenants of the BB Centre. They will be moving into the DELTA building from Building C and the ALPHA Building. Hewlett-Packard has signed a lease for 17,000 square metres of space in the DELTA Building. In addition to offices, the company will use 1,300 square metres for its customer centre and training site. Microsoft will use 11,500 square metres of the DELTA Building, of which 1,200 square metres will serve as the customer centre. When the common areas of the building are taken into account, 30,000 square metres of the DELTA Buildings total area have been rented out. “We are happy that these important companies chose the DELTA building for their expansion,” says Radim Passer, the Chairman of the PASSERINVEST GROUP, a.s. Board of Directors. He goes on to add, “Both companies are expanding within the BB Centre and we are growing with them. This provides us with confirmation that the BB Centre is definitely an excellent business address.”

Biljana Weber, Microsoft’s General Manager in the Czech Republic, explains why the DELTA Building was chosen, “In today’s day and age people can work from any location and the function of the workplace is changing – it is gradually being transformed into a place for meeting, collaboration, and group work. The way the DELTA Building has been designed makes it possible to create a working environment that matches our philosophy of being able to work from anywhere but, at the same time, supports team spirit and innovative thought. We believe that our example will inspire even more companies to take advantage of the benefits of modern technology to increase the creativity, innovation, and flexibility of the work they perform.”

DELTA is the seventeenth building of the multi-functional BB Centre complex. It offers a total of 40,000 square metres of rentable space distributed over eight storeys, 800 square metres of retail space on the ground floor, and almost 800 parking spaces in a five-storey underground car park. The building stands in a location bordered by Vyskočilova and Václav Sedláček streets. Its interesting architectural design is the work of the AULÍK FIŠER ARCHITECTURAL STUDIO. The DELTA Building is conceived as two interconnected buildings forming an H-shaped layout. The way the four main “ribs” of the building are structured makes it possible to connect both buildings by means of a footbridge on each of the individual floors. Hewlett-Packard took advantage of this design and, by connecting the floors located in the DELTA I and DELTA II sections, created a unique office space of 4,700 square metres located on one floor. “The light exterior cladding, formed by horizontal glass panes and metallic panels for the fixed sections, is a solution that meets the demanding requirements not only for the interior office space but also for the building’s energy efficiency,” elaborates the architect Ing. Jan Aulík of the AULÍK FIŠER ARCHITECTURAL STUDIO.

Like the other buildings in the PASSERINVEST GROUP’s portfolio, the DELTA Building has been certified according to the BREEAM process, which is an international methodology, used to assess buildings from the perspective of their sustainability, and received a rating of “Very Good”. In addition to the office and retail space, the DELTA Building also includes additional interesting and functional areas, such as the rooftop terrace with its rich greenery and relaxation zones. The western side of the building will be bordered by an artificial riverbed that will catch rainwater from the entire area of the building for use in the adjoining green corridor. The south side of the structure will be loosely connected with the newly created Brumlovka Park, the first stage of which will be completed at the same time as the DELTA building. As a result, this particular building will become the greenest building in the entire BB Centre complex.

PASSERINVEST GROUP, a. s.

Passerinvest Group (hereinafter Passerinvest) is a purely Czech builder and investor. The company was founded by Radim Passer back in 1991 and has since then acquired a lot of experience in the construction of office and commercial buildings, residential buildings and civic amenities.
Since 1998, Passerinvest, as a responsible urban developer, has primarily been connected with Brumlovka (BB Centrum) in Prague 4, which is one of the most successful and extensive urban projects not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout all of Europe. Another important project in the company’s portfolio is Nové Roztyly, a brownfield of the former slaughterhouses of the Interlov complex where, in the future, a place with pleasant housing with a large park should arise, complemented by services for the general public and an office function. The principles of urban construction and the long-term sustainable development of Prague and the Czech Republic are part of Passerinvest Group’s vision. Thanks to its responsible approach, Passerinvest has built a very good reputation both on a domestic and on an international level. This is not only to the credit of the quality of the realised projects and the high level of the provided services, but also to the sense of fair play, a customer approach and also its responsibility to the society and the environment.
