BUILDING ALPHA
Comprised of four underground and eight above-ground storeys, the Alpha is located in the most prominent position of the whole site, being clearly visible from both Prague’s trunk road (5. května St) and Vyskočilova St. Designed by architect Aulík (Studio A), the building is founded on piles and a raft, which merges into the cast-in-place reinforced concrete structure, with the casing made of glass and aluminium. The interior atrium creates pleasant and intimate atmosphere due to the generously glazed light well, which drops from the top through each of the storeys. The curved south-west façade has facilitated attachment of the exceptionally designed logo of the key tenant, Microsoft company, directly to the casing.
The interior layout is as flexible as possible to comply with a widest variety of requirements laid down by the prospective tenants. Incidentally, it is security that is above standard as well, with the building divided into several sectors and all the information analysed at the reception desk on the ground floor. The exit from the underground parking is possible in a lift, which links it with the ground storey, and then only through a turnstile to the bank of other lifts, which serve the upper storeys. Thus each of the tenants and visitors is recorded when going through the check-in facility.
The objects of interest that stick out a mile include a large atrium, with a negative pitch angle through all the levels. What is absolutely unique in Prague is the application of pre-oxidised titanium zinc for the curved south-west façade, as well as a roof garden with a terrace, a lot of quiet places, observation points and secluded spots with benches. The complex would include exotic woody plants, stylised little bridges made of African timber and stylised lighting. Wheelchair access is naturally available too.
The Alpha offers almost 13,000 sq m for lease, as well as 220 parking places.
The general contractor of the construction was HOCHTIEF company while the building work was supervised by EC Harris. The financing bank was HVB Bank – PASSERINVEST GROUP’s stable business partner in development of BB Centrum site.

PASSERINVEST GROUP, a. s.
Passerinvest Group (hereinafter Passerinvest) is a purely Czech builder and investor. The company was founded by Radim Passer back in 1991 and has since then acquired a lot of experience in the construction of office and commercial buildings, residential buildings and civic amenities.
Since 1998, Passerinvest, as a responsible urban developer, has primarily been connected with Brumlovka (BB Centrum) in Prague 4, which is one of the most successful and extensive urban projects not only in the Czech Republic, but throughout all of Europe. Another important project in the company’s portfolio is Nové Roztyly, a brownfield of the former slaughterhouses of the Interlov complex where, in the future, a place with pleasant housing with a large park should arise, complemented by services for the general public and an office function. The principles of urban construction and the long-term sustainable development of Prague and the Czech Republic are part of Passerinvest Group’s vision. Thanks to its responsible approach, Passerinvest has built a very good reputation both on a domestic and on an international level. This is not only to the credit of the quality of the realised projects and the high level of the provided services, but also to the sense of fair play, a customer approach and also its responsibility to the society and the environment.
