Business breakfast again brings companies in Brumlovka together. Technology expert Petr Mára speaks to guests about the possible threats and opportunities of AI
An informal Link and Breakfast meeting was held at FLEKSI in Brumlovka in Prague at which the employees of companies from Brumlovka met those from the nearby Roztyly Plaza office building. The main item on the agenda was a presentation by technology expert Petr Mára on the subject of artificial intelligence, followed by a panel discussion with key representatives of Microsoft CZ, ČEZ Group, and Frequentis Czech Republic. Discussion centred on balancing the innovation and risks that artificial intelligence might entail for companies. Passerinvest Group organises these regular Link and Breakfast meetings in Brumlovka as one of the many ways in which Passerinvest creates an inspiring working environment, while at the same time connecting its tenants to each other.
This time out, representatives and employees of companies that have offices in Brumlovka and in the Roztyly Plaza building came along to take inspiration from discussion of how artificial intelligence changes our work and personal lives and what challenges and the opportunities it will bring in the future, all over a cup of coffee. Petr Mára showed everyone there the speed at which artificial intelligence is currently developing and how it is transforming a variety of areas – searching for information, improving the generation of text or visual content, for example, the use of artificial intelligence in augmented reality in smart glasses, and so on – before outlining a vision of the future – entirely autonomous vehicles and robots.
Petr Mára sees the great potential of artificial intelligence as lying mainly in education. “Education can be far more interactive and gain greater momentum. The things we have until now only imagined based on our learning from books, augmented reality and artificial intelligence make it possible to actually experience. This is a great example of how the correct use of technology can be effective,” Petr Mára told participants. Among other things, he emphasised that artificial intelligence is not simply a phenomenon of the past few years, as it might seem on account of its rapid evolution, but that its development goes hand-in-hand with the development of technology ever since the first computers.
The panel discussion that followed was attended by Petra Vojáčková, Manager of the ČEZ Group’s Digital and Data Centre, Michal Marek, Director, Customer Success at Microsoft CZ, and Tomáš Vlček, Managing Director at Frequentis Czech Republic. They shared their personal experience and opinions of and their approaches to artificial intelligence in terms of its implementation in corporate processes, and pointed out the failures we can learn from so far.
“We are aware that work is an important part of our lives. That’s why we strive to ensure that employees that work for local companies see their workplace as being a truly beneficial and inspiring place, a place where they feel good,” said Martina Draper, Customer Relationship Manager & ESG, Passerinvest Group, before adding: “We believe that the professional events for the tenants of our buildings which we regularly organise are an opportunity to establish contacts and share experience, as well as being a contribution to the future development of those companies themselves.“
