Passerinvest Group wins the 2023 Opera Pragensia Award for the transformation of Prague’s Brumlovka neighbourhood
The 2023 Opera Pragensia Award was presented to Passerinvest Group, a.s., for its significant contribution to the transformation of a brownfield into the thriving urban neighbourhood of Brumlovka, combining architecture and high standards of residential, commercial and social spheres of life. This year was focused on architectural projects that have been implemented within the capital city of Prague in the last 30 years. The award was presented at the Opera Pragensia Awards ceremony at Žofín Palace by Ing. Ondřej Kubín, the Mayor of Prague 4, to Radim Passer, the founder and CEO of Passerinvest Group.
“I am very pleased with how people perceive the importance of development in the construction sector. Looking at projects in a broader context and with a long-term vision to focus on the development of the whole locality, this is something that has become absolutely natural for us during the almost 30 years of working on Brumlovka. Brumlovka is an integral part of my entire business life, and Prague – Roztyly is set to be the same. And for this I am extremely grateful to the Lord for leading me through life and guiding my steps. I believe that our projects are beneficial not only for Prague, but also for the whole of society,” said Radim Passer, founder and CEO of Passerinvest Group, sharing his impressions from the award.
The aim of the Opera Pragensia Awards is to introduce the general public to the gradual process of development of Prague architecture. Every year, interesting personalities are presented along with their projects, which, whether within larger or smaller urban areas, help to improve the everyday life of Prague residents, but also a wide spectrum of foreign visitors from many corners of the world. The Opera Pragensia Awards are announced and organised by the international festival of architecture and urbanism Architecture Week Prague, the city of Prague and the individual city districts.
A model of Brumlovka is specially situated at the exhibit of Czech and Slovak architecture in the Riding School of Prague Castle, which the public can visit for free until 30.11.2023.
Brumlovka: From a neglected brownfield into a modern Prague neighbourhood
More than a quarter of a century ago, Passerinvest Group started building the first office buildings in a then neglected brownfield in Prague – Michle, which was gradually joined by residential buildings and public spaces in the following years. Thanks to a sophisticated urban plan, the modern, distinctive quarter that we know today was created.
There are currently 12 office buildings located on about 25 hectares, with 80 companies headquartered here. Thus, Brumlovka provides almost 15 thousand jobs to people from 75 different countries of the world.
In addition to the classic administrative areas, serviced offices under the name FLEKSI are also a huge trend in Brumlovka. They are suitable for coworking as well as for organising various events. In addition to the office buildings, there are also three residential buildings and 70 shops and services. There is also a preschool, an elementary and secondary school and places for leisure activities in the form of the Balance Club Brumlovka wellness and fitness centre, the athletic stadium and public parks. Throughout the site, there is care taken to develop the blue-green infrastructure and to promote the local biodiversity.
